Creamy Wild Rice + Mushroom Soup

Winter has finally showed up here in the Northeast.  We had our first little snowfall of winter.  I love how the first snow makes everyone giddy with delight.  At the first glance of snow, my girls wanted to race outside to play. 

The cold, snowy weather was the perfect reason to have a hot bowl of soup with a side of grilled cheese. This soup was really quite easy and quick, aside from cooking the rice.  I threw the rice in the dutch oven, cooked the rice for 30 minutes and then added the yogurt once I cut the heat. 

While this soup was really tasty and filling, next time I make it, I would add some chicken for added protein.  But this is a really delicious, simple recipe on a chilly Autumn or winter night.
